characteristics of living things
All living things share five characteristics.
Number one all living things require energy.
Number two all living things respond to their environment.
Number three all living things get rid of waste.
Number four all living things reproduce.
Number five all living things grow and develop.
Cells
Cells are the building blocks of life. We have trillions of cells in our bodies and each minute thousands of skin cells are falling out of our body, but don't worry because we re-create cells just as fast as they fall. The world's largest single cell is the yoke of an ostrich egg. Cells reproduce but they can only reproduce from another living cell. Cells are the smallest living organisms in the world and all living things are made from cells.
We made a plant cell out of jello.
eukaryotic and prokaryotic are the two types of cells eukaryotic cells are the type of cells that make up plant animals and humans. eukaryotic cells have something called a nucleus which is the thing that holds all the DNA. Prokaryotic cells are bacteria and they can withstand volcanic vents
cellular respiration/photosynthesis
cellular respiration is when a cell takes oxygen and solar energy to create glucose as energy for the plant. It may seem like photosynthesis but unlike photosynthesis cellular respiration can happen in every cell not just plant cells.
